Layers: A Senior Recital by Donavan Walker
About the Recital
As a culmination of four years at UCSB alongside eight
years of dedication to my craft, Layers will double as a
senior recital and a launching point for my compositional
career. The recital will be narrative-driven, progressing
like a play but having a higher emphasis on the
musicians/music.
The production will require at least 4 rehearsals between Fall and winter quarters. On top of that, there will be a dress rehearsal on the day of to make sure everyone understands staging and concert flow. With this hectic schedule, I will also be working on compensating all the performers for their time and dedication. As a college student with hopes of going to grad school (aka more money loss :/ ), I can’t promise a large amount but I can guarantee that everyone involved will get paid something.
